TOM MACRAE
Over 40 years in offshore drilling, from trainee driller in the North Sea in 1981 to Senior Company Man with bp from 2000. Drilling Supervisor and Superintendent for bp in Baku, and Drilling Supervisor on Petronas wells in Mexico. Well Control Advisor. Founder of the California Drilling School, which certifies to IWCF and IADC standards, and of Flying A Services, which builds well control risk and competency frameworks. Veteran of a landmark North Sea platform abandonment, one of the largest decommissioning projects in the region, and a plug and abandonment specialist. BSc Engineering.

PHIL DUFF
Over 40 years in drilling operations worldwide. Operations Superintendent for Petronas in Mexico for four years. Drilling Manager and Superintendent on wildcat and deepwater campaigns in Indonesia, Africa and India. Ran the first rigless abandonment in the North Sea, for Hamilton Brothers, and the longest land horizontal wells drilled in Russia at over 12,500 m. Deepwater MPD and HP/HT specialist. Founder of previous drilling and energy ventures, DU-EL Drilling and Focus Petroleum, with more than US$11 million raised across prior companies and projects. Investor network, capital markets credibility, and deep government and industry relationships in Mexico.

The Metamorphic Energy name has been registered since 7 August 2023 under NUBLK LLC, a Nevada company formed in 2021 and a founding Member of Metamorphic Holdings LLC. Trading was carried on under the Energy name from 2023. Metamorphic Holdings LLC was formed on 3 June 2025 as the holding company, with Metamorphic Trading LLC formed the same day. Every other Metamorphic name on this site is a division of the holding company, not a separate company, and contracts in the name of Metamorphic Holdings LLC.
